Henry Jolson OAM QC 1947-2013
He was a member of the ad hoc Tribunals for the Commonwealth Games Melbourne 2006 and New Delhi 2010, and the Australian Ambassador of the AFL Peace Team competing in the 2008 and 2011 AFL International Cups.
He was honoured with an OAM in the 2012 Queens Birthday honours list for service to the law, particularly in the area of alternative dispute resolution, to professional associations, and to the community. In September 2012 he was inducted as a Living Legend of the Victorian Bar.
Henry sadly passed away after a long illness in October 2013. He was 66 years of age. Henry was a top student and an excellent schoolboy footballer, having played in the Melbourne High School 1st XVIII from 1962 to 1964. At school Henry also served in Cadets and became a Cadet Under Officer. He was also a Prefect and was in the school athletics team, schools 1st XI cricket team. He then played with MHSOBFC and AJAX Football Club before taking up many other sports, including yachting and golf.
Sadly Henry passed away in 2013 after an eight year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
