David is Special Advisor (Artificial Intelligence) at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) where he leads the development of the AI strategy for Singapore’s financial sector and drives MAS’ efforts in promoting open cross-border data flows. David is also External Advisor (Artificial Intelligence) to Singapore's Corrupt Investigation Practices Bureau (CPIB). Prior to his current roles, David was MAS' first appointed Chief Data Officer and Head of Data Analytics Group reporting to the agency Deputy Managing Director for Financial Supervision. David has extensive exposure and experience in both industry and academia and he has consistently applied advanced technology with an analytical mindset to shape and deliver new innovation. David holds a PhD in Computer Science in the field of Machine Learning from the University of Southampton and graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with First Class Honors B.Sc. in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Out in the "field", David is more likely to consider himself a data artist instead of a pure data scientist.
Nageb is Head Operations, Data Management & Privacy at Standard Chartered. Prior to relocating to Singapore to join Standard Chartered Nageb held executive leadership positions in Australia across both the private and public sectors in the areas of privacy, regulatory and policy influence, and Information Security Governance including data breach management. A privacy professional with over 17 years of experience, he started his career managing the information access and privacy function for a government agency and went on to work as a Ministerial Policy Advisor, Solicitor, and General Manager. Nageb holds a combined degree in Economics and Laws and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
