Insights on the Chief Executive’s Pre-Election Report with Kevin Lavery
Kevin Lavery joined the City Council in March 2013 from the UK, after holding a number of CE positions including Cornwall Council and City of Newcastle Upon Tyne, where he was known for delivering successful economic growth projects.
Over the last six years Kevin has focused on urban growth, renewal and resilience. His approach takes inspiration from the way transport investments have facilitated sustainable urban growth and development in some of the most successful cities in the US and around the World. His current focus is getting funding to deliver a significant programme of work called Let’s Get Wellington Moving.
Kevin has managed the City through the Seddon and Kaikoura earthquakes, St James Theatre and Town Hall strengthening, the 2018-28 Long term Plan and more recently the Library building closure and Civic Square to name a few.
