Stuart Ayres was elected to the NSW Legislative Assembly in 2010, representing the electorate of Penrith. Stuart took the previously safe Labor seat on a 25.7 point swing – at the time the largest swing against a sitting government in New South Wales history.
Since his election, Stuart has held the positions of Parliamentary Secretary for Western Sydney Minister for Fair Trading and Minister Assisting the Premier on Western Sydney and Minister for Police and Emergency Services.
In March 2015 Stuart became the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events and Minister for Sport. Stuart drove exceptional levels of growth in attracting tourism and major events to the state in addition to ensuring internationally, NSW remained ‘Open for Business’.
On 30 January 2017, Stuart assumed the role of Minister for WestConnex, Minister for Western Sydney and Minister for Sport. More than just new and improved travel options, WestConnex will also create more than 10,000 direct and indirect jobs and provide training, education and employment opportunities to thousands of people. Also responsible for the State Government’s delivery of Western Sydney Airport and the Western Sydney City Deal, Stuart has been granted a once in a two generation opportunity to have a direct impact on the future of his community.
As a passionate resident of Western Sydney, his role ahead is to ensure nation building infrastructure like WestConnex and the Western Sydney Airport continue to drive economic prosperity for all Australians.

• Western Sydney Airport and land use planning
• Western Sydney City Deal
• Improving access to essential services Health and Education services in Western Sydney
• Delivery of key sporting and recreational facilities across NSW
